Documents & AI review

What the AI checks on every upload

Every document is reviewed by AI the moment it arrives — before anyone on your team opens it. Look for the sparkle "AI-checked" chip. It:

  • Classifies the document (tax return, bank statement, driver's license… 36 types) and reads the tax year or statement period.
  • Extracts the document's own date — a statement's closing date, a form's signature date — which powers staleness tracking.
  • Runs completeness checks: wrong tax year vs. what you asked for, missing signatures on forms that need them, suspicious page counts, unreadable scans, password-protected files.
  • Files pile uploads onto the right checklist item when confident (see the pile article).

Amber flag chips (like "Wrong tax year") appear on the item so you know before you open the file. The AI is your tireless first reviewer — it never accepts or rejects anything. Humans always decide, and you can override anything it did.
